In compelling, at times riveting prose, Under Surge, Under Siege takes readers into the heart of the storm in this small Mississippi town (Anderson and others were swept away in it when their “safe haven” on high ground collapsed out from under them) and then turns to the aftermath, chronicling the first three years of recovery work. Winner of the 2010 Eudora Welty Book Award.

With Dr. Smith’s participation, we will have an opportunity to promote his own new book on disaster preparation.
